<p><strong>NEW YORK CITY (November 17, 2011) &#8211; </strong>Just two days before America’s biggest eating holiday, where more than 45 million turkeys are expected to be served for Thanksgiving dinner<a href="http://pr.skyyspirits.com/wp-admin/#_ftn1">[1]</a>, the world’s greatest competitive eaters will go head to head to see who can eat the most turkey at the inaugural <a href="http://www.wildturkey.com/">Wild Turkey</a>® 81 Eating World Championship, on Tuesday, Nov. 22 in New York City.<span id="more-903"></span> </p>
<p>The 10-minute competition, which challenges competitors to down 10-pound roast turkeys, is sanctioned by <a href="http://www.ifoce.com/">Major League Eating</a> (MLE), will take place at 11:00 a.m. at The Times Center on 41<sup>st</sup> Street near Times Square, and will feature a total prize pool of $3,081, with the winner taking home $1,581 and the cherished Wild Turkey 81 Eating World Championship belt. </p>
<p>Headlining the event will be the 100-pound Sonya Thomas, the diminutive number-four MLE ranked eating marvel out of Alexandria, Va. Dubbed “The Black Widow,” Thomas made history earlier this year after winning the first-ever women’s hot dog eating championship belt on July 4. Thomas regularly defeats men twice her size and holds 24 eating world records. Over Labor Day weekend in Buffalo, N.Y., she set a new world record by consuming 183 chicken wings in 12 minutes and beating top-ranked Joey Chestnut. </p>
<p>The turkey eating invitational is title sponsored by the “Official Whiskey of Thanksgiving,” Wild Turkey 81 Bourbon, the newest addition to the Wild Turkey bourbon family. In addition to sponsoring the event, Wild Turkey is also making a charitable donation of 81 turkeys to a NYC metro food bank to help families during the Thanksgiving holiday. </p>
<p>The Wild Turkey 81 Eating World Championship is a timed contest to see who can consume the most turkey meat from a whole turkey. Each roast turkey will be 10-pounds and will be weighed again following the contest to determine accurate results. The second place finisher will take home $750, while $500 and $250 will go to the third and fourth place eaters. </p>
<p>“Our slogan for Wild Turkey is ‘Give ‘Em the Bird’ and that’s exactly what we’re doing with this world-class event – giving 10-pound birds to the world’s best eaters and watching them devour them in an epic battle royale,” said Eddie Russell, Associate Master Distiller of Wild Turkey and creator of Wild Turkey.”I am sure our namesake bird won’t go down without a fight!” </p>
<p>Looking to upset Thomas are two of New York’s top Major League Eaters – “Badlands” Booker and “Crazy Legs” Conti. The 400-pound Booker, a competitive eater and hip-hop artist from Queens, enters the event with world records in glazed doughnuts and pumpkin pies. A 10-year MLE veteran, Conti is a national champion in sweet corn, a food not dissimilar to turkey in competitive eating circles given the heavy emphasis on technique and hand-to-mouth coordination. </p>
<p>“Sonya will face men literally four times her size as she seeks the Wild Turkey 81 Eating World Championship belt,” said George Shea, chairman of Major League Eating. “She will provide a lesson for all those Americans who approach the Thanksgiving meal as a competitive event.”<strong> </strong></p>

Past turkeys have lived out their post-pardon life in relaxation at Mount Vernon, Va. and Frying Pan Park (Fairfax County, Va.).  This year, Wild Turkey wants to support its namesake by offering the gobbler a permanent role at its Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, KY. </p>
<p>“As a Wild Turkey employee for 57 years, I can attest with some authority that the distillery is  a great place – and this turkey would be a welcomed attraction to our popular visitor’s center as our official spokesbird,” said Jimmy Russell, Master Distiller at Wild Turkey Bourbon. “Also, our recent distillery expansion not only enables us to produce twice the amount of Wild Turkey Bourbon for our fans, but it allows plenty of room for this turkey to spread his feathers out and live out his days in peace, with no threat of future Thanksgiving-related job cuts.” </p>

<p>The Wild Turkey Distillery, where this pardoned turkey would reside full-time, has recently undergone a $50 million expansion, making this 134,000 square foot distillery one of the biggest whiskey distilleries in North America. The new distillery has been open since June and while it is no White House, it is a beloved spot on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail helping to bring in tourism dollars to the state of Kentucky.<strong> </strong></p>

However, all predictions have fortunately been abandoned as these dates have passed without incident, and we have continued to revel.  In this year’s calendar, Campari takes these doomsday theories and juxtaposes them with a “Toast to Life!” as presented in a series of powerful, awe inspiring photos starring Hollywood actress and supermodel, <a href="http://www.millaj.com/">Milla Jovovich</a> (<em>The Three Musketeers</em>).<span id="more-878"></span> </p>
<p>This year’s 13 calendar images, captured by contemporary French photographer <a href="http://www.florencemoll.com/dimitri-daniloff">Dimitri Daniloff</a><strong>,</strong> are set to take the audience on a stunning visual voyage. The calendar showcases Campari’s latest female protagonist in vivid shots, as she encounters hypothetical scenes on how many have predicted the world could end, including <em>Global Warming, Drought </em>and<em> Ice Age</em>.   In the striking photos, Milla responds to these frightening hypothetical calamities with a counter view &#8211; instead of cowering in fear, she focuses on celebrating life by raising a toast of Campari’s magnificent red aperitif. </p>

<p><strong>Milla Jovovich: Biography</strong></p>
<p>Milla Jovovich has successfully established herself as a highly regarded, international model and actress.  Jovovich has transitioned effortlessly to a full time actress, starring in over two dozen films. At the age of eleven, Jovovich was spotted by photographer Richard Avedon, who featured her in Revlon&#8217;s “Most Unforgettable Women in the World” advertisements. Since then Milla has appeared in hundreds of magazines and on dozens of covers. In 1994, Milla released her critically acclaimed folk album, The Divine Comedy. Inspired by a love of “elves and magic trees,” Milla wrote the lyrics at 15 and recorded the album when she was just 16. She has just wrapped production on “The Three Musketeers 3D” where she will portray “Milady de Winter.”  She appears alongside an international cast that includes Christoph Waltz, Matthew Macfadyen, Mads Mikkelsen and Juno Temple. <p><strong>Dimitri Daniloff: Biography</strong></p>
<p>Born in 1970, Dimitri Daniloff discovered his love for photography by chance while studying for a science degree when a friend gave him a camera as a gift. &#8220;To me, it was a revelation,&#8221; Daniloff remembers fondly, and it took him just one day of experimenting with the camera to discover his great passion for photography. He immediately quit his studies and started training in photography. On completion of his apprenticeship he started work as a photographer&#8217;s assistant, with the role seeing him travelling throughout Europe and the United States, before becoming an independent photographer in 1998.</p>
<p> Dimitri is obsessed with living in the now and pre-empting the future and his “Cubism” series demonstrates this futuristic approach, aiming to exceed the limits of the image, to reinvent and to push the boundaries. His creativity involves erudite distortions and manipulations, which have allowed him to build notoriety in the contemporary photographic world. Daniloff has adapted this digital aesthetic to foster a renewal in advertising photography, which he believes has been in crisis since the beginning of the 21<sup>st</sup> century. He is constantly working to find another subterfuge to dazzle people with. The Frenchman won a Gold Lion in Cannes 2003 with a Playstation campaign and was exhibited by the Museum of Les Arts Décoratifs, Le Louvre, Paris representing the new generation of photographers.<strong> </strong></p>

The double-act came together in Mick’s hometown of Maui, at his new bar Fleetwood’s on Front Street (opening early 2012), to share tales of career beginnings, legendary nights on stage, song inspirations, tour secrets and rumored band romances. Their musical journey together was captured on video for <em>Off the Record</em>, and will launch through Cabo Wabo’s YouTube page on October 11<sup>th</sup> at <a href="http://www.YouTube.com/CaboWabo">www.YouTube.com/CaboWabo</a><span id="more-871"></span> </p>
<p>Cabo Wabo’s <em>Off the Record</em> series pairs rock royalty with buzzworthy emerging artists for an intimate one-on-one conversation, captured on film, giving the viewer a personal, behind-the-scenes view into a life in rock and roll. <em>Off the Record</em> allows music aficionados a chance to get the inside track on the untold stories of the musician’s experience. </p>
<p>Mick Fleetwood and Nicole Atkins make for a fascinating introduction to the <em>Off The Record </em>program as they both epitomize the grandeur of blues and rock. Riffing off comparisons with Fleetwood Mac front-woman, Stevie Nicks, and following her recent cover of the band’s hit, “Oh Well,” Nicole takes Mick to task on the greatness of Fleetwood Mac, amongst his other achievements. Taken en masse, Fleetwood Mac’s oeuvre can enchant purists, pop fans and stars alike. Nicole confesses: “Stevie Nicks has had a large influence on my own songwriting and made me comfortable with my singing voice. Fleetwood Mac is <em>that</em> band that is able to write timeless hits with a serious dark side. That&#8217;s what I strive for in my songs &#8211; a contrast between the light and dark.” </p>
<p>In the dimly lit bar setting that is <em>Off The Record</em>, Nicole finds out first-hand her unknown tie to Nicks, how a fateful night in New Orleans with the Grateful Dead almost got Mick barred from playing in the US before anyone knew his name, and how Fleetwood Mac’s many pronged and complicated relationships provided the backdrop that nearly tore the band apart, yet ultimately led to the band’s masterpiece, 1977’s <em>Rumours</em>. </p>
<p>Equally attuned to the experience of love gone bad, Mick turns the tables on New Jersey-born Nicole. Her new album, <em>Mondo Amore,</em> was hatched in a time of extreme turbulence, a period which saw her parting ways with her former music label while also dealing with the painful termination of “a relationship that should’ve ended two years before it actually did.” Nicole cites blues and classic 60s psychedelic rock as longtime influences, a sound which Fleetwood Mac dabbled in early on. Not only does Mick probe Nicole about the genesis of what <em>New York Times</em> calls her “surrealistic songs“ and <em>Rolling Stone</em> her “forceful…melancholy,” he uncovers the driving force behind her music and her lifelong passion to perform. </p>

Bringing together musicians of varying ages and genres to discuss common experiences gives a one-of-a-kind insight into our craft and world. Winners were determined with the help of over 100,000 votes cast from listeners and fans, making it the biggest promotion in the Cabo Wabo’s legendary history. Other winners include Tester from Boston, No 1 Left Standing from Denver, New Magnetic North from Dallas, Greg Smith and the Broken English from New York City, and The Trims from San Francisco. </p>

<p><strong>OLDMELDRUM, SCOTLAND (September 21, 2011)</strong> – It is not every day that the distillery manager at <a href="http://www.glengarioch.com/">Glen Garioch</a><sup>®</sup>, one of the oldest operating distilleries in all of Scotland since 1797, can say “we can never reproduce this taste again,” but with the small batch release of <strong>Glen Garioch 1994 Vintage</strong>, that statement is patently true. Prior to 1995, the year this distillery was mothballed, the barley used to make Glen Garioch was dried with peat, which imparted a smoky taste to its whisky. The 1994 Vintage, having rested in North American oak, ex bourbon casks for 17 years, is the <strong>last existing batch of this smoky whisky</strong>.  When the distillery was re-opened, it no longer used peat, hence its current unpeated house style.<span id="more-863"></span> </p>
<p>The 1994 Vintage was hand-picked at the peak of its perfection, bottled at <strong>cask strength (53.9% alcohol by volume</strong>), <strong>non-chill filtered</strong> and offered now, for the enjoyment of single malt aficionados around the world. As can be imagined, the quantity of this historical vintage is limited and only <strong>3,000 bottles</strong> will reach US shores this October. Whisky fans will find Glen Garioch 1994 Vintage at fine retailers nationwide for a <strong>suggested retail price of $109.99</strong>. </p>
<p>Glen Garioch 1994 is only the second limited-edition vintage introduced in the US, the first being Vintage 1991, released in January 2011. These small batch releases from Glen Garioch (pronounced “Glen Geery”) are very carefully considered selections and chosen to best exemplify the breadth and depth of the distillery’s spirit quality.  John Mullen, Glen Garioch brand manager says, “<em>Glen Garioch is an enduring spirit with more than 200 years of provenance.  Our aim with all our limited edition expressions is to show the real quality of the liquid.  Glen Garioch may be a small artisan distillery but it produces some of the finest single malts which stand up well against most, if not all, of our more famous fellow distilleries</em>.” This release is truly a taste of the past and a rare opportunity to sample the way this Highland malt was made ages ago. </p>

The distillery peated its own barley then, which gave their whisky a heathery smokiness. <p><strong>SAN FRANCISCO (August 6, 2011) -</strong>San Francisco got the Top Chef treatment as Bravo&#8217;s &#8220;Top Chef All-Star&#8221; winner Richard Blais hosted “Booze &amp; Bites,” a late night after-party with the city’s own <a title="Skyy Spirits" href="http://www.skyyspirits.com" target="_blank">Skyy Spirits </a>during SF Chefs, the premier food, wine and spirits week presented by Visa Signature. Guests were treated to Chef Blais’ nifty liquid nitrogen tricks, three cocktail bars with drinks created by the talented Bon Vivants, delicious signature bites from Namu’s Dennis Lee and 4505 Meats’ Ryan Farr, and music from Hot Pocket and DJ Dojah. Other Top Chef-alumni in attendance included Fabio Viviani (Season 5), and locals Jen Biesty (Season 4), Marisa Churchill (Season 7), Mattin Noblia (Season 6) and Ryan Scott (Season 4).<span id="more-843"></span> </p>
<p>The three cocktails bars and a welcome punch station showcased Skyy Spirits’ extensive portfolio including SKYY Vodka, SKYY Infusions, Campari, Wild Turkey Bourbon, Espolon and Cabo Wabo tequilas, Flor de Caña rum, and the company’s international whiskies. The Bon Vivants created pitch-perfect classics, like the Negroni with Campari, sweet vermouth and gin, as well as craft cocktails, such as the “La Novelita,” a mix of Espolon Blanco Tequila, Amontillado Sherry, mango, lime, red fresno chilies and spiced coconut foam. </p>
<p>The event benefitted the Golden Gate Restaurant Association Scholarship Fund.</p>
