This Small Batch Introduction Is One of the Last Ever Peated Glen Garioch 

OLDMELDRUM, SCOTLAND (September 21, 2011) – It is not every day that the distillery manager at Glen Garioch®, one of the oldest operating distilleries in all of Scotland since 1797, can say “we can never reproduce this taste again,” but with the small batch release of Glen Garioch 1994 Vintage, that statement is patently true. Prior to 1995, the year this distillery was mothballed, the barley used to make Glen Garioch was dried with peat, which imparted a smoky taste to its whisky. The 1994 Vintage, having rested in North American oak, ex bourbon casks for 17 years, is the last existing batch of this smoky whisky.  When the distillery was re-opened, it no longer used peat, hence its current unpeated house style. SAN FRANCISCO (August 6, 2011) -San Francisco got the Top Chef treatment as Bravo’s “Top Chef All-Star” winner Richard Blais hosted “Booze & Bites,” a late night after-party with the city’s own Skyy Spirits during SF Chefs, the premier food, wine and spirits week presented by Visa Signature. Guests were treated to Chef Blais’ nifty liquid nitrogen tricks, three cocktail bars with drinks created by the talented Bon Vivants, delicious signature bites from Namu’s Dennis Lee and 4505 Meats’ Ryan Farr, and music from Hot Pocket and DJ Dojah.
